CompanyDesk for AI assistants

Company data in Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants

Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) you connect your AI assistant with your CompanyDesk account. The assistant then searches companies in 22 European registers on its own, reads master data and officers, builds the contract party with the representatives you choose and, where the register provides them, retrieves financial data. Every answer states the register source and the time of the query.

That is all you need. Do not enter a client ID or client secret; sign-in configures itself.

Connect in Claude

For Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Cowork, on the Free, Pro and Max plans.

  1. In Claude, open “Customize” and then “Connectors”.
  2. Click “+” and “Add custom connector”.
  3. Enter CompanyDesk as the name and the server URL above, then click “Continue”.
  4. Leave the detected sign-in settings unchanged. For the OAuth client, both the recommended default and “Register automatically” work; no client ID of your own is needed. Finish with “Add”.
  5. Click “Connect”. companydesk.eu opens: sign in with your CompanyDesk account and confirm “Allow access”. You are then returned to Claude.
  6. In the chat, check under “+” and “Connectors” that CompanyDesk is switched on, and ask your first question.

Connect in ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects custom MCP servers through developer mode. In Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an administrator must enable it first. Availability by plan and menu names are set by OpenAI and change from time to time.

  1. In ChatGPT, open “Settings”, then “Apps & Connectors” and “Advanced settings”, and switch on developer mode.
  2. Under “Apps & Connectors”, click “Create”.
  3. Enter CompanyDesk as the name, a description such as “Company data from European registers” and the server URL above as MCP server URL. Choose OAuth as authentication and do not enter a client ID.
  4. Confirm that you trust the application and click “Create”. Sign in on companydesk.eu and confirm “Allow access”.
  5. In a new chat, select CompanyDesk under “+” and “More”, and ask your first question.

Claude Team and Enterprise

An owner first adds the connector once for the organization: Organization settings, Connectors, “Add”, “Custom”, “Web”, with the same server URL. Each member then connects under “Customize” and “Connectors” with their own CompanyDesk account. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

Other programs

Microsoft Copilot Studio, Visual Studio Code, Cursor and other programs that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in connect with the same server URL. CompanyDesk supports Dynamic Client Registration and Client ID Metadata Documents, each with PKCE.

What you can ask

  1. Find Julius Blum GmbH in the Austrian commercial register and name the managing directors with their power of representation.
  2. Draft the contract party clause for this company, represented by two of its managing directors.
  3. Show revenue, net result and equity for the last five financial years as a table.
  4. For which countries are financial data available?

What the assistant can retrieve

  1. List of countries and the data available there
  2. Search by company name or registration number within one country
  3. Company record with master data and, where the register provides them, officers
  4. Dates of birth of individual officers named by you, for identification, for instance of the signatories of a contract, where the register publishes them
  5. Balance sheet, income statement and key figures, only in the countries for which CompanyDesk offers them

Account and quota

A confirmed CompanyDesk account is required. Without CompanyDesk Pro, 20 free queries are available for the Word and Excel add-in and AI assistants together, each within the daily quota. Security and privacy

  1. You enter your password only on companydesk.eu, never in the AI assistant.
  2. The assistant receives an access grant only after your express consent. It renews itself and is valid for at most 180 days.
  3. In My CompanyDesk you see every connection as “AI assistant” and disconnect it with one click; access ends immediately.
  4. CompanyDesk receives only the details of each query, such as country, company name or registration number, not the rest of your conversation. Processing within the assistant is governed by its provider’s terms.
  5. Access is read-only and limited to individual companies. There is no search for persons, no linking of persons and companies, no beneficial owners and no credit rating. The data are not an official register extract.

If something does not work

  1. “Registration with the sign-in service failed”: remove the connector, add it again and do not enter a client ID.
  2. The sign-in window does not open: allow pop-up windows for claude.ai or chatgpt.com.
  3. The assistant reports an unconfirmed account: open the confirmation link in the email from CompanyDesk.
  4. The free queries are used up: CompanyDesk Pro continues without this limit.
  5. To change a connector: remove it and add it again, in Claude as in ChatGPT.
