In Poland, the National Court Register KRS records commercial companies, cooperatives, foundations and associations. It is kept by the registry courts and provided by the Ministry of Justice through an official interface.

The Polish National Court Register (Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy, KRS)
The KRS is based on the Act of 20 August 1997 on the National Court Register. It consists of the register of entrepreneurs and the register of associations, other social and professional organisations, foundations and public healthcare institutions. It is kept electronically by the district courts (sądy rejonowe) as registry courts.
Who is registered
Registered are the entities for which a law requires registration, in particular commercial companies such as the limited liability company (sp. z o.o.) and the joint-stock company (S.A.), partnerships, cooperatives, associations and foundations. Sole traders are not in the KRS but in the separate central register CEIDG.
Inspection and official extract
The register is public. The Central Information Office of the KRS (Centralna Informacja) at the Ministry of Justice makes the current information on registered entities available on the internet free of charge. It also issues extracts and certificates which have the effect of official documents; it charges fees for these.

The public interface of the KRS allows queries by the ten-digit KRS number, not by company name. For a search by name, the search of the Ministry of Justice is available.
